Choosing Your Amenities: What Monthly Guests Actually Look For
A checklist of everything your home offers. Here is the one rule that makes it quick, and which amenities matter most when someone is staying for months.
The itsFurnished Team·
The amenities screen is a checklist, grouped by category. Check everything your home offers. You need at least one to publish.
The one rule
Check anything a guest would otherwise have to bring or buy. If a guest arriving with two suitcases would have to go out and get it, and you already have one, check it.
What matters most for a monthly stay
- Wi-Fi and a workspace. Most people staying for months are working.
- A stovetop, an oven, and a full-size fridge. On itsFurnished, a kitchen is its appliances. Guests searching for a kitchen see homes with all three, so check each one you have.
- Cookware and dishes. People cook when they live somewhere.
- Towels and linens. Nobody relocating for a season wants to buy sheets on day one.
- Air conditioning and heating. Skippable for a weekend, not for a summer.
Many of these are search filters, so a missing box can hide you from a guest who would have picked you.
A few notes
- Laundry and parking are not here. You answer them on the essentials screen.
- Shared amenities, like a gym or a pool, count if your guest can actually walk in and use them.
- Housekeeping is unusual, and worth checking if you offer it.
Do not undersell, do not oversell
The most common mistake is checking too few boxes because the items feel obvious. A coffee maker feels too small to mention, but to someone comparing five homes it is one less thing to buy.
The opposite mistake costs more. A guest who chose you partly for the dishwasher and finds none will remember it for the whole stay. Check what is really there.

Common questions
- How many amenities do I need to check?
- At least one to publish, but check everything you genuinely have. A guest comparing homes reads this list closely.
- Which amenities matter most for a monthly rental?
- Wi-Fi, a workspace, a stovetop, an oven, a full-size fridge, cookware and dishes, towels and linens, and heating or air conditioning.
- Why is there no kitchen checkbox?
- On itsFurnished, a kitchen is its appliances. Guests searching for a kitchen see homes with a stovetop, an oven, and a full-size fridge, so check each one you have.
- Where do I add laundry and parking?
- On the essentials screen, not the amenities checklist.
- Should I check small items like a coffee maker?
- Yes. They cost a guest money and a trip to the store if you do not have them, which is exactly what makes them worth listing.
