Your Address and Map Pin: What Guests Can and Cannot See
The address screen asks where your home is. Here is how the pin works, and exactly how much of your address a guest ever sees.
The itsFurnished Team·
The address screen asks where your home is. You enter your street and ZIP, then set your pin on the map.
Guests never see your street address
Your listing shows your city and state and an approximate location on the map. Your street address is not shown. When a stay is arranged, you share the exact address and any entry details with your guest yourself, in Messages.
There is no apartment or unit number field. A guest only needs that to get through the door.
How the screen works
Enter just the street line and your ZIP. Your city and state fill in from the ZIP. Then look up the address to open the map near your home.
Drag the map until the pin sits on your home. Wherever you leave it is what gets saved. If the lookup lands on the wrong building, or cannot find the address and starts you nearby, dragging fixes it.
To fix a typo, reopen the address fields, correct it, and look it up again.
Why the pin is worth ten seconds
Your pin decides where your home appears on the map and which area searches include it. A pin a few blocks off can put your home in the wrong neighborhood, and the neighborhood is often what a relocating guest is searching by. Zoom in and place it on your building.
Changing your address later
You can redo the address while you are still going through the flow. After that it is read-only, because changing it moves your home on the map. If it needs to change, contact us and we will move it for you.
