Minimum and Maximum Stay: How Long Should Guests Book?

This screen sets how long guests can stay: a minimum, and an optional maximum.

One month is the floor. itsFurnished is built for monthly furnished stays, so 30 days is the shortest minimum. That is on purpose: it is why your guests are relocators, traveling professionals, and people between homes rather than weekenders.

Choosing your minimum

  • One month gets you the most requests, and the most turnover: more cleanings, more handovers, more gaps.
  • Three months gets fewer requests, but each is worth more and asks far less of you.
  • Six months or more narrows you to relocations and long contracts. Steady, but slower to fill.

Not sure? Start at one month. You can raise it later, even after publishing. A month counts as 30 days here.

The maximum is optional

No maximum is usually right. A guest who wants to stay longer is a good problem. Set one only for a real reason, like needing the home back by a certain season.

The maximum can never be shorter than the minimum. Raise the minimum past it, and the maximum moves up too.

No availability dates here

Listing does not ask when your home is available. If it is not ready yet, wait to publish. To mark dates it is not available, block them on your hosting calendar.

Common questions

What is the shortest stay I can allow?
One month, which counts as 30 days. itsFurnished does not support nightly or weekly stays.
Should I set a one-month or three-month minimum?
One month brings the most requests but more turnover. Three months brings fewer, higher-value stays. If you are unsure, start at one month and raise it later.
Do I have to set a maximum stay?
No, and most hosts do not. Set one only if you have a real constraint.
How many days is a month here?
30. A three-month minimum is 90 days.
How do I mark dates when my home is not available?
Block them on your hosting calendar. Listing your home does not ask for availability dates.
What happens if my minimum is longer than my maximum?
It cannot be. Raising your minimum past your maximum moves the maximum up with it.
